Music in Minca: Mother Nature’s Son by The Beatles (acoustic cover)
The air was crisp and the mood was chill at Casa Elemento in Minca, Colombia and the song that kept popping into my head was the soothing and beautiful Mother Nature’s Son by The Beatles. More accurately however, it’s a solo Paul McCartney song that he wrote in India in 1968 and recorded for their self titled album most people call The White Album. The green setting and hilly backdrop was so perfect as the lyrics mention mountain streams, fields of grass and swaying daisies. Also, the blowing wind and chirping birds provides great background accompaniment.
So, here it is for your enjoyment, Mother Nature’s Son by The Beatles. This is one of my favorite acoustic songs to play and one of my favorite Beatles songs to listen to.
Here is Paul McCartney singing his song live in 2002. He still has an amazing voice all these years later and kills it at the guitar. I am in awe of his musicianship and song writing skills. The man is a master!
Here is the original 1968 recording with the beautiful lyrics provided for you to sing along to. There is such a pure and effortless tone to Paul’s voice in the original and his guitar finger strumming is so smooth. Also listen to Black Bird on the White Album for a similar style and feel. Enjoy!
